Decline in Distressed Sales Continues
According to this article on DSNEWS, “distressed homes sales, which are sales of REO properties and short sales comprised 9.9 percent of all U.S. home sales in May, the first time since the recession that the distressed sales share has dipped below 10 percent…” This is great news for the real estate market.
Here in Tuolumne County, distressed sales are not quite that low but year over year they are continuing to decline, helping to create an evenly paced and stable market. Here are the percentage of distressed sales according to the Tuolumne County Association Realtors “MLS”:
- January – July 2015- 15%
- January – July 2014- 17%
- January – July 2013- 33%
- January – July 2012- 49%
